Belly fat is not only an annoyance, but it puts you at an increased risk of health issues. Also known as visceral fat, it impacts a growing number of the population. Everyone has belly fat because it’s normal to have some. However, the deep fat that wraps around your organs and puts them at risk is the fat we want to blast!

Two Ways to Blast the Belly Fat:

(1) Balanced Nutrition Plan

Eating a well balanced diet and having a healthy nutrition plan is key to blasting the fat. The 80/20 rule applies and that is 80% is diet and 20% is exercise. Check out my previous post on what foods you need to help you lose weight.

(2) Exercise

Exercising will help you burn calories. I recommend including both strength training and cardio workouts. The strength training will help build muscle mass which will increase your metabolism over time. While cardio will help burn calories which will in turn help in losing the fat. The higher the intensity of the cardio, the more calories you will burn.

I know a lot of you are probably thinking what about ab exercises like crunches, planks, sit ups, etc. Well, did you know that we all have abs and the reason we don’t see them is because of the layer of fat covering them. Therefore, in order to show your abs we need to first shed the fat around it. Then you can do planks and crunches to grow those muscles so that they increase in size and look more defined.

The photo below was taken while on a powerlifting program to gain strength. Who said powerlifters were bulky and not lean??!?

And remember, consistency is key!!
